Photos: NJTV Honors Three New Jersey Educators in Newark

Newark, New Jersey: NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, honored three New Jersey educators today, two of whom teach in Newark.

Tyree Barnes and Sara Mosle are two of NJTV’s 2015 American Graduate Champions. The awards were given as part of American Graduate Day. Barnes is a math teacher at Great Oaks Charter School in Newark's Central Ward, and Mosle is a writing teacher at Philip's Academy Charter School, also located in the Central Ward.

Kate Baker, who teaches English at Southern Regional High School in Stafford Township, Ocean County, was also an honoree.

A video was shown regarding each winner's work in the classroom, and certificates were distributed.

The event was held in the NJM Community Room at the Agnes Varis NJTV Studio at Newark's Gateway Center.

Following the presentation, attendees were taken on a tour of the studio, and watched a live broadcast of 'NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams'.

On Saturday, a seven-hour long program about American Graduate Day will be shown on NJTV, beginning at 11:00am.

"We really want to spotlight the great work you're doing", said Carole Wacey, WNET Education Vice President to the winning educators.
