South Orange, New Jersey: An Essex County Subway location will close in the near future. The sub sandwich store location at 113 South Orange Avenue in South Orange is currently the only Subway restaurant in the Village, though there are nearby locations in Newark and Maplewood. Lewis Finkelstein of The Goldstein Group told Essex County Place that the location, which opened in 2006, is scheduled to close by the end of October. The space is available for lease.
An employee of the store told Essex County Place that it may move to a different location.
This is not the first sub sandwich store to close in South Orange. A Blimpie location on Valley Street closed in 2008, and has been vacant ever since.
