Cedar Grove High School Project to Remember September 11th Victims

Cedar Grove, New Jersey: A display at a suburban Essex County high school will remember the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks, which occurred 14 years ago this week.

'Cedar Grove Waves' will be installed at Cedar Grove High School on Thursday, September 10th, and will be taken down on Wednesday, September 23rd. It will consist of 2,977 flags on the school's front lawn.

David W. Schoner, Jr., a township resident who led the fundraising for the project, told Essex County Place that it is "a way to remember, educate and honor the 2,977 people who perished on September 11, 2001".

Cedar Grove High School is located at 90 Rugby Road, off of Ridge Road. If you are traveling to see the display, take NJ Transit's Bus 195 from New York or Bus 11 from Newark.

Remembrance services will be held on Friday in several Essex County communities, including Bloomfield, Cedar Grove, Nutley, and West Orange.
