Newark, New Jersey: Free backpacks and supplies will be distributed to students in the Newark Public Schools and area charter schools this week. On Friday, September 4th, from 4:00pm to 6:30pm, backpacks filled with supplies will be given out to students of all ages who come with their parents or guardians to the Newark Public Schools Family Support Center. Advance online registration is required, and the event will be sponsored by the Newark Public Schools and the New Jersey Black Alliance for Educational Options.
