Learn About New Jersey's Cuban Population at the Newark Public Library


Newark, New Jersey: Programs on New Jersey's Cuban population are coming to the main branch of the Newark Public Library. This state has one of America's largest Cuban populations, and the Hudson County municipality of Union City has one of the highest populations in the Northeast. On Thursday, September 17th at 6:00pm, there will be a keynote address for a new library exhibition regarding the subject. The exhibit, 'Beyond Exile: Cubans in New Jersey', will be on display until December 31st. Dr. Lisandro Pérez will speak at the keynote address about his study of Cuba and the presences of Cubans in this country. Additional events will include concerts, film screenings, and lectures. The main branch of the Newark Public Library is located opposite Washington Park at 5 Washington Street. Transportation is available using the Newark Broad Street Train Station, the Newark Light Rail's Washington Park and Atlantic Street Stations, and NJ Transit Buses 11, 13, 28, GO28, 29, 30, 41, 59, 65, 66, 72, 78, and 378.
