Montclair Hawk Watch is Now Open

Montclair, New Jersey: The Montclair Hawk Watch is now open for the season. The lookout is managed by New Jersey Audubon, and is located atop the First Watchung Mountain along the Cedar Grove border. The Hawk Watch has taken place in Montclair annually since 1957, making the township one of America's oldest hawk watch locations. Visitors must climb a large stairwell up the hill in order to reach the platform, where a view of eastern Essex County, Hudson County, and the entire Manhattan skyline awaits them. The Hawk Watch will be open between 9am and 5pm, and will close on November 30th. The Montclair Hawk Watch is located on Edgecliff Road off of Bradford Avenue. Transportation is available using the Upper Montclair Train Station.
