News 12 Opens Newsroom Within New Cablevision Facility

Newark, New Jersey: Regional cable television network News 12 New Jersey has opened a new newsroom in Downtown Newark. The new location of the Edison, Middlesex County-based station's Newark Bureau is within the new Cablevision facility atop the recently expanded part of 494 Broad Street. News 12 New Jersey is one of eight News 12 stations that are owned by Cablevision, which is based in Bethpage, New York.

Besides the News 12 New Jersey newsroom, the new 10-story building also contains a Cablevision call center, office space, and a parking garage. According to a report by KS Engineers, there will also be a bank on the first floor.

Construction on the building, which was built at the site of a parking lot, began in 2013. It was partially funded using New Jersey Urban Transit Hub Tax Credits, according to Monge Capital.

494 Broad Street stretches from the corner of Broad and Atlantic Streets to the corner of Broad and Bridge Streets. It is located across Atlantic Street from the Riverfront Stadium Station of the Newark Light Rail. Click here to learn more.
