#24HrsOfPeace Coming to the South Ward


Newark, New Jersey: The fifth annual #24HrsOfPeace event will be held this from Friday, August 28th at 6:00pm to Saturday, August 29th at 6:00pm. The 2015 event will be held on Clinton Avenue in Newark's South Ward between Bergen Street and Osborne Terrace. Notable attendees will include Mayor Ras J. Baraka, members of the Newark Municipal Council, and emcee Rakim. The event is free and open to the public. There will be hip-hop concerts, speakers, town hall meetings, bike rides, a movie night, a community breakfast, activities for children, a technology area, yoga, Zumba, and a health and wellness pavillion. The theme of this year's event is "Uniting the Human Family". According to the City of Newark, the event partners include 211 Community Impact, GrassROOTS Community Foundation, and the Believe in Newark Foundation. Click here to learn more.
