Forum Regarding Criminal Justice Reform Coming to East Orange


East Orange, New Jersey: Senator Cory Booker and The Coalition of Religious Leaders will hold a forum regarding criminal justice reform on Tuesday, August 11th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The forum will be held at Christ Church in East Orange. Panelists will include U.S. District Attorney Paul Fishman, Bishop Reginald Jackson of the St. Matthew AME Church and the Black Ministers Council of New Jersey, Jiles Ship of the National Association of Black Law Enforcement Executives, and Reverend Craig Hirshberg of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation. The moderator will be Michael Hill, who is a correspondent for NJTV News, New Jersey's public television network. There will be a panel discussion regarding criminal justice, mass incarceration, faith, and race, according to the event flyer. Panelists will also discuss the impact of these topics on local communities. Event partners include the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice, the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies, NJTV, and the Integrity House. Christ Church is located at 422 Main Street. Transportation is available using New Jersey Transit's East Orange Train Station on the Morris and Essex Lines, or by taking Buses 21, 71, 73, or 79.
