Redd’s Biergarten to Open in Newark

Newark, New Jersey: A new restaurant is coming to Downtown Newark. Redd’s Biergarten will open this summer at the street level of 218 Market Street in the RockPlaza Lofts residential and commercial development. The restaurant will be owned by Doug Palsi, Dan Palsi, and Frank Pinto. Pinto told Essex County Place that Redd's "fills a niche that has been missing from Newark", and that authentic German food, wine, and beer will be served. Pinto added that Redd's "encourages socializing, meeting new people and stimulating conversations", and that the restaurant will feature long community tables, which are common in Germany. The owners currently operate Redd’s Restaurant & Bar near the Meadowlands Sports Complex in Carlstadt, Bergen County.

Other businesses currently located in the RockPlaza Lofts development include Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, FastSigns, Mercato Tomato Pie, the SEED Gallery, and Chipotle Mexican Grill.
