Newark, New Jersey: A new cafe could be coming to Newark.
Black Swan Espresso is planning to open a location at 95 Halsey Street in Downtown, between Linden Street and Warren Street. The space is located next to Jimmy John's, across the street from the new Prudential complex. It was previously occupied by Johnson's Barber Shop and Beauty, but has been vacant for several years.
The building was renovated in 2014, and an additional floor was added atop the buildings. The top three floors now contain apartments.
A sign advertising the new coffee shop has been posted outside, but it is not clear when it will open. The company, which is based in Jersey City, was registered with the State of New Jersey in May.
