Apartments Planned Near Orange's Highland Avenue Train Station

Orange, New Jersey: Apartments could be coming to an Orange neighborhood.

According to a legal notice from the City of Orange Township's Planning Board, a second floor addition is proposed for 281-287 Scotland Road, between Mitchell Street and Central Avenue. The proposal by Double R, Inc, based in the Colonia section of Woodbridge, Middlesex County, calls for eight residential units on the new second floor, a 'live/work' space on the ground level of the building, and one affordable housing unit.

Currently, the Toast of the Town liquor store is located at the site, which is near the Valley Arts District of Orange and West Orange, and is two blocks away from the Highland Avenue Train Station.

The Orange Planning Board will hear the proposal on Wednesday, August 24th at 7:30pm at City Hall.
