Newark, New Jersey: An annual festival will return to Newark's Central Ward this month.
The Fairmount Heights Community Fair will be held on Saturday, August 20th, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, at Liberty Park. The event will be sponsored by the Urban League of Essex County, and according to the flyer, there will be games, prizes, vendors, entertainment, and free food. Admission to the program is free and open to the public.
According to Darrin Sharif of the Urban League of Essex County, nearly 100 volunteers are needed for the community fair. Those interested can send an email to dsharif@ulec.org or can call (973) 624-9535 ext. 204.
