Take a Foraging Tour of Branch Brook Park


Newark, New Jersey: A walking tour will be offered this week of an Essex County park.

According to the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs, 'Wildman' Steve Brill will lead a foraging tour at Branch Brook Park in Newark's North Ward this Saturday, June 18th, beginning at 10:00am. Attendees will look for wild fruits and vegetables in the woods, and should bring drinking water, in addition to plastic bags, containers, and paper bags to bring home what they collect. There will also be a talk at the Branch Brook Park Education Center.

This program, which is being held in partnership with the Branch Brook Park Alliance, is free and open to the public. To make a reservation, send an email to careofthepark@branchbrookpark.org by Friday morning. The activities will begin along Branch Brook Park Drive, south of Park Avenue. Transportation is available using the Park Avenue Station on the Newark Light Rail.
