Learn About Maplewood's College Hill Neighborhood

Maplewood, New Jersey: A program about the history of a Maplewood neighborhood will be held later this month at a historic house in the township.

The Durand-Hedden House will open the new exhibit, From Farm to Suburb: The Birth of College Hill, on Sunday, February 21st, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. College Hill, which consists of the area north of Springfield Avenue, east of Prospect Street, and south of Tuscan Road, is known not for being surrounding by a university, but for the streets in the neighborhood named after such institutions.

Amherst Court, Bowdoin Street, Colgate Road, Harvard Avenue, Oberlin Street, Rutgers Street, Wellesley Road, and Yale Street are among the blocks in the area.
