Newark, New Jersey: Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka's monthly visits to branches of the Newark Public Library will continue this month. Mayor Baraka will visit the North End Branch Library on Wednesday, December 16th at 4:00pm. The event is open to children and their parents or guardians. Attendees will be read to by the mayor, and will learn how to use the library. Participants will also receive a free book and a library card, and will take part in literacy activities. The event will be sponsored by Programs for Parents, Inc. and the City's Read and Believe initiative. To register, call (973) 733-7766.
