Newark, New Jersey: The Newark Public Library will welcome employees of the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland for 'Heroes of the Animal Kingdom', a series of children's programs that will be held this July. Participating children will make a craft at each event. According to the Newark Public Library, the first program, called 'Arthropods and their Amazing Powers', will take place at 2:30pm on Wednesday, July 1st at the Vailsburg Branch Library, located at 75 Alexander Street. Attending children will learn more about how arthropods stay alive. Birds will be discussed on July 7th at 2:00pm at the Main Library's children's room, located at 5 Washington Street, and on Tuesday, July 21st at 11:00am at the Weequahic Branch Library, located at 355 Osborne Terrace. Students can learn about ocean animals and fish at the Springfield Branch Library, located at 50 Hayes Street, on Wednesday, July 29th at 2:00pm. Lastly, a program about reptiles and amphibians will tour the library system. Environmental Center employees will visit the Van Buren Branch, located at 140 Van Buren Street, on Wednesday, July 8th at 2:00pm, the North End Branch, located at 722 Summer Avenue, on Wednesday, July 22nd at 2:00pm, the Branch Brook Branch, located at 235 Clifton Avenue, on Thursday, August 6th at 3:30pm, and the Clinton Branch, located at 739 Bergen Street, on Wednesday, August 12th at 3:00pm.
