The 80th annual Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade is scheduled for this Friday, March 13. The parade will start at 1:00pm at the corner of Mulberry and Lafayette Streets. The parade will run north on Mulberry Street past the Prudential Center and Market Street, before turning left on Center Street, followed by a left on Central Avenue and a right on Washington Street. The parade will end in front of the Newark Museum. This year's Grand Marshal is Rosemarie L. Mellody of Upper Montclair, and the Deputy Grand Marshal is the Reverend Patrick W. Donohue, the former pastor of the Sacred Heart Church in Vailsburg, Newark. The parade is presented by the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, Inc., which is made up of delegates from dozens of local organizations. Sponsoring companies include Barnabas Health, Gibbons, Investors Bank, and Verizon.
