Arc of Essex County to Host Presentation in Roseland


The Arc of Essex County will host "Meet Their Needs and They Will Read", a program regarding teaching reading to learners with Down syndrome. Author and speaker Natalie Hale will share a presentation called "Special Reads for Special Needs". This free event will take place this Saturday, March 14, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Roseland's Stepping Stones School. Topics that will be discussed include the optimal order of learning how to read, sight word learning versus phonemic awareness, how to engage motivation, the Fast Flash method, and how to teach nonverbal children and older non-readers how to read.
