The Baykeeper of New York and New Jersey and Newark Doing Infrastructure Green (DIG) will host a free workshop on Tuesday, March 24 from 8:30am to 11:00am about green infrastructure, which is "an approach to water management that protects, restores, or mimics the natural water cycle".
Attendees will learn more about green infrastructure, and how it helps reduce costs and improves storm resistance. Panelists will include Larry Levine, an attorney with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Dr. Chris Obropta, P.E. of the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Water Resources Program, Kyra Hoffman of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau for Nonpoint Pollution Control, and Melissa Muroff, the vice president of Roof Meadow.
The workshop will take place at the New Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) office on the 17th floor of the One Newark Center at 1085 Raymond Boulevard. A free continental breakfast will be served. Click here to register.
