The New Jersey Audubon will hold a maple sugaring event tomorrow, Saturday, March 7, at 10:30am, at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland. Attendees will first look for sugar maple trees and learn how to tap trees, before exploring the 'sugaring' process and tasting different types of maple sugar. In addition, participants will make a sugar snack. The event is geared towards children ages 4 through 12 and their families. The cost of the event is $8 for New Jersey Audubon members at $10 for the general public. Interested participants must register in advance by calling (908) 766-5787.
