New Building Could Come to Lower Broadway


Newark, New Jersey: A new development project in Newark's Lower Broadway neighborhood is moving forward.

The proposal for a new commercial building at 2-12 Gouverneur Street, between Broadway and Broad Street, will be heard at the next meeting of the Newark Central Planning Board on Monday, April 18th.  According to board minutes, the plan calls for an 18,000 square foot building with retail space on the first and second floors, with office space as well on the second floor. There would also be a 19 space parking lot should the project be approved.

Currently, Gary's Auto Collision and a private parking lot stand at the site.
