Newark, New Jersey: A restaurant will open in a building in Newark's Central Ward which is nearing completion.
Munchies by Antonio will open in the new mixed-use development at 42-48 Norfolk Street, at the corner of Sussex Avenue, in the University Heights neighborhood. The restaurant will serve Venezuelan cuisine, in addition to hot dogs, arepas, and hamburgers.
The new building will be four stories tall, and will contain 18 apartments. It is being built on a previously vacant lot. The surrounding properties, which include houses, a mixed use residential and commercial building that contains a bodega, and the Newark Collegiate Academy Charter School, were all built in the last eight years on vacant lots as well.
