Taste of Montclair Event Returning in March

West Orange, New Jersey: An annual local culinary tradition will return to Essex County next month.

The Montclair Rotary Club's Taste of Montclair 2017 will be held on Monday, March 13th, from 5:30pm to 9:00pm, at The Manor, located at 111 Prospect Avenue in West Orange. At least 40 Essex County restaurants, including Bluff City BBQ, Chatni Indian Restaurant, Ahrre's Coffee Roastery, and Gelotti, will serve a variety of cuisine to attendees. All of the food and drink served at the event, which, despite its name, has never been held within the Montclair township limits, will be donated by the participating restaurants. Plus, Jack the Jackal, the mascot of the New Jersey Jackals baseball team, is set to make an appearance.

Early bird tickets to Taste of Montclair 2017 start at $64.29. All proceeds will go to the local charities supported by the Montclair Rotary Club, including Toni's Kitchen, the Human Needs Food Pantry, The Salvation Army, S.O.F.I.A, Succeed2Gether, and the Montclair Township Animal Shelter.

Montclair, New Jersey: One of Essex County's largest food festivals is almost here, and as an Essex County Place reader, you can receive a discount when you purchase a ticket.

2016 Taste of Montclair Event Coming in March

West Orange, New Jersey: One of Essex County's largest food festivals will be held again this spring. 

The fifth annual Taste of Montclair event will be held on Monday, March 14th, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Attendees will be able to sample a variety of food and drinks from dozens of vendors from across Essex County and Northern New Jersey. Ticket sales will benefit the charities supported by the Montclair Rotary Club.  

The Green Radish, Claremont Distillery, Cowan's Public, Jersey Artisan Distilling, Chef Jesse Jones, Tiny Elephant Bakery, Jams by Kim, and Yogic Chai Montclair are among the participants in this year's event.

Last year's Taste of Montclair was held at Montclair State University, and hundreds of attendees raised over $31,000 for charities including Toni's Kitchen, the Human Needs Food Pantry, and The Salvation Army. Foods served ranged from donuts to burgers to sauces.

This year, the event will be held at The Manor in West Orange.

More details of the 2016 Taste of Montclair will be released as the date nears.

Only a Few Tickets Remain for 'Taste of Montclair'

Only a few tickets are left for the Taste of Montclair on Monday, March 9, the kickoff event for Montclair Restaurant Week. Dozens of area chefs, restaurants, and businesses will participate. The event will benefit the Montclair Rotary Club, and will take place from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Conference Center at Montclair State University's University Hall, which features excellent views of Northern New Jersey and New York City. Tickets to the event cost $60. A parking pass for the Red Hawk parking deck and a shuttle from the parking deck to the Conference Center are included in the ticket price.

“This is Montclair’s one- of-a-kind culinary festival that recognizes all those talented and innovative men and women who have transformed our town in to one of the top dining destinations in the Garden State", said event chair Joseph Solano, adding that "you’ll want to be here for the appetizing food, fun, and friendship as we all sample our community’s wonderful cuisine and bid farewell to winter."

According to the Montclair Rotary Club, ticket proceeds will be donated to Human Needs Food Pantry, Toni’s Kitchen, and Salvation Army Montclair Citadel.

Rotary to Present 'Taste of Montclair' and Montclair Restaurant Week in March

Dozens of businesses in the Montclair area will take part in the Montclair Rotary Club's fourth annual 'Taste of Montclair' event on Monday, March 9 at Montclair State University. The event will kick off Montclair Restaurant Week, a yearly celebration of cuisine from across the township. Restaurants in Montclair will offer specials to diners from March 9 until Sunday, March 15 as part of Restaurant Week.

"Restaurant Week is the ideal time for everyone to visit their favorite restaurants again or make a new dining discovery”, said Rotary member Alicia Robinson in a news release.

Participating businesses at the 'Taste of Montclair' event will offer special prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus to attendees, in addition to breakfast specials.

“The special prix-fixe, multi-course options offered by each participating restaurant encourages diners to try several different eateries during the March promotional week", said Rotary member Joe Solano.

The event will take place at the MSU Conference Center at University Hall from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A free shuttle will operate between the Red Hawk Parking Garage and University Hall. Event expenses, such as the shuttle, will be paid for by sponsors such as BMW of Bloomfield, Whole Foods Montclair, Investors Savings Bank, Haven Savings Bank, Montclair Acura, Tracey Diamond Design, and WH Linens. General tickets cost $60, To purchase tickets, or to donate, click here.

All tickets sales will benefit the charities supported by the Montclair Rotary Club, including Toni's Kitchen, the Human Needs Food Pantry and the Salvation Army. In addition, all proceeds from the special cocktail and a portion of bar proceeds will be donated to the Rotary.
