African Adventure Exhibit Opens at Turtle Back Zoo Today

West Orange, New Jersey: A new exhibit is opening at one of Essex County's largest tourist attractions today, and several regional leaders are on the guest list.

The new African Adventure Exhibit at the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange's South Mountain Recreation Complex will open during a ceremony today at 12:00pm. Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr., Governor Chris Christie, and First Lady Mary Pat Christie are slated to speak at the event, according to the County of Essex and the Office of the Governor.

According to the County, "the exhibit is the largest at Turtle Back and features four Masai giraffes, eland, whistling ducks, ostrich and tortoises".

This is Governor Christie's first visit to the Turtle Back Zoo since July of 2014, when he attended the grand opening of the Education Center building.
