Newark, New Jersey: A new sandwich shop has opened in Downtown Newark. Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches opened on Wednesday at 95 Halsey Street, between Warren and Linden Streets. The space now occupied by the restaurant had been vacant for several years until the building was renovated. This is not the first Essex County location for the Champaign, Illinois-based chain, which has seen growth in the New York Metropolitan Area in recent years. There are other locations in Roseland and Montclair.
