New Park Opens in Verona This Week


Verona, New Jersey: A new park will open to visitors and community members in Verona this week. Township of Verona's Grove Park Historic and Nature Preserve will open on Saturday, November 21st. The ribbon will be cut by the mayor, members of the Verona Township Council and Environmental Commission, and the Verona Historical Society during a public ceremony at 10:00am. The Junior Woman's Club of Verona contributed funds to the project. The park features benches, trails, and historic plaques. Dr. Henry B. Whitehorne, the founder of Glen Ridge's Mountainside Hospital, once lived at the site. Grove Park is located at 42 Grove Avenue/Route 639. Dental Office Opens in South Orange


South Orange, New Jersey: A new dental practice has opened to patients in Downtown South Orange. Dr. Uju Mbamalu's Total Care Endodontics & Microsurgery, P.C. opened last week in suite 100 within the Village Office Center building at 71 Valley Street, at the corner of Second Street. The office of Dr. Trevor F. Simmonds, DDS was previously located in the space before moving to an East Orange office building. Blaze Pizza Prepares to Open in Downtown Newark


Newark, New Jersey: One of the fastest growing pizza chains in the country will open its first Essex County location in Downtown Newark this week. 


Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza confirmed in July that a location would open within the new Shoppes on Broad development at 691 Broad Street, between Starbucks Coffee and Nike Factory Store. 


Customers will be able to choose from a variety of toppings on their pizza before the pizza is baked for three minutes. 


Now, according to the company, the restaurant will open on Thursday, November 19th, though a grand opening celebration will be held the next day on Friday, November 20th. Free pizzas will be distributed to all during the celebration from 10:30am to 8:00pm. 


The Shoppes on Broad are part of the new Prudential tower complex, which was built at the site of the former S. Klein on the Square Department Store. 


This will be Blaze Pizza's fourth New Jersey location.

Farm Mart Opens in Nutley


Nutley, New Jersey: A new business is in the process of opening to customers in the Township of Nutley. Farm Mart, located at 364 Centre Street, will host a grand opening celebration this Saturday, November 14th. The produce store will sell a variety of fruits and vegetables, and will be one of several markets with locations in Nutley. The space now occupied by the new market, located near the Nutley Diner, was previously occupied by a Mandee clothing store location. Click here to learn more.

Bloomfield to Hold Tree Lighting Event


Bloomfield, New Jersey: The Township of Bloomfield's annual tree lighting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, beginning at 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public, and will be held outside of the Bloomfield Township Municipal Building. Local scout groups will perform alongside the concert choirs from Bloomfield High School and Bloomfield Middle School. The Bloomfield Township Municipal Building is located at 1 Municipal Plaza, between Bloomfield Avenue and Franklin Street. Parking is available in the neighborhood, and transportation is available using NJ Transit buses. Click here to learn more.
