Verona Bakery Reportedly Closed After Decades in Operation

Verona, New Jersey: A popular bakery in suburban Essex County appears to have closed.

Di Paolo's Bakery, located at 603-605 Bloomfield Avenue in Verona, has been listed for lease on LoopNet. The listing states that the family that owned the bakery retired, and that the space will be available beginning in October. The bakery served a variety of items, ranging from Italian bread to cakes and donuts to personal pizzas.

Di Paolo's has been an institution in Essex County for several decades, and has operated both in Verona and several miles east on Bloomfield Avenue in Newark's North Ward. The Newark location, which was established in 1961 as Di Paolo Brothers Bakery, closed in 2012 and is now a pharmacy.

The phone number associated with the business has been placed out of service.
