New Warehouse Planned for East Orange

East Orange, New Jersey: Another new warehouse could be coming to East Orange.

According to a legal notice from the City of East Orange's Planning Board, FM Home Improvement, Inc is planning a "development of buildings and associated facilities for warehouse, light manufacturing, retail showroom and supply house", in addition to "offices for construction operations".

The development is proposed for the Sussex Area Redevelopment Zone at 100 -136 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard/Main Street, between North Grove Street and Greenwood Avenue. The lot is currently vacant, but was once the site of the Grove Street Train Station.

FM was founded in East Orange, but is currently based in Denville, Morris County. The City of East Orange sold the lot to FM for $250,000 in June, according to NJ Parcels.

A hearing regarding the proposal will be held at City Hall's Municipal Council Chamber on Wednesday, September 7th at 7:30pm.

As Essex County Place first reported last month, another warehouse and distribution center is planned for the site of Arcardian Gardens on Sussex Avenue.
