New South Orange Rescue Squad Headquarters to Hold Open House

South Orange, New Jersey: Local residents will soon be able to see a new facility for first responders in one Essex County village.

A dedication and open house for the South Orange Rescue Squad's new headquarters will be held on Saturday, June 11th, beginning at 11:00am. There will be several activities, according to the squad, including tours, meetings with local EMTs, and events for children.

The new building is located next to the South Orange Fire Department headquarters at 62 Sloan Street, between First Street and Second Street. A garage and apartment on Fourth Street has been the temporary home of the squad for two years. Previously, it operated in a building on Third Street for over 45 years before being demolished in 2014 to make way for the new Third and Valley apartment complex.
