Learn About the History of James Caldwell High School

West Caldwell, New Jersey: A local Essex County high school will celebrate its history at a program in 2016. James Caldwell High School in West Caldwell will hold James Caldwell Historical Night on Tuesday, February 23rd, beginning at 6:30pm. The event will be held in the school's Center for the Performing Arts. Attendees will watch a documentary and see presentations about the history of JCHS, and will meet a reenactor of its namesake, James Caldwell. In addition, there will be performances by school music groups and other activities. Admission is free and open to the general public. The school serves the Borough of Caldwell and the Township of West Caldwell. It opened in 1960, after The Caldwells saw a rapid increase in population after residents of Newark, many of whom were from the North Ward of the City, left for suburban communities. James Caldwell High School is located at 265 Westville Avenue, at the corner of Woodmere Road. Click here to learn more.
