Newark, New Jersey: Several pop-up stores have opened in Downtown Newark for the holiday season.
The Downtown Holiday Market opened on Monday in the spaces of the Newark Pop Up Shops, located within the National Newark Building. There are storefronts on both the Broad and Commerce Street sides of the building.
Founder and local real estate agent Melvin A. Sykes told Essex County Place that the stores allow business owners who cannot afford to have their own retail space to sell their items in Downtown Newark. Items sold by the various retailers include clothing, artwork, jewelry, and CDs.
The M&M's Pop-Up Store operated in one of the spaces in October.
The National Newark Building is located at 744 Broad Street, between Commerce and Clinton Streets.
