Take a Tour of the Canoe Brook Reservoir

Short Hills, New Jersey: The gates to a reservoir in the Short Hills section of Millburn Township will be open one day this month for the public to get a rare look inside. New Jersey Audubon naturalist Dave Hall will lead a tour of New Jersey American Water's Canoe Brook Reservoir, which is one of several water reserves in the area. Advance registration is required for this event. Attendees will follow trails around the reservoir to look for winter waterfowl like hawks or bald eagles. Tickets cost $10 for members and $12 for everyone else. The reservoir is located on John F. Kennedy Parkway near The Mall at Short Hills. To register, call the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary at (908) 766-5787. Click here to learn more.
