Volunteer at a Newark Recreation Center


Newark, New Jersey: Volunteers are needed to help clean up a Newark recreation facility. According to the Jersey Cares charity, there will be a cleanup of the Newark Division of Recreation and Cultural Affairs' Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Recreation and Aquatic Center on Saturday, September 12th. From 9:00am to 12:00pm, volunteers will participate in the 2015 September 11th Week of Service & Remembrance by cleaning up the ice skating rink, painting certain areas, and participating in other projects. Advance registration is required, and volunteers must be at least 18 years old. The Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Recreation and Aquatic Center is located in the Ironbound at 226 Rome Street, near the corner of St. Charles StreetTransportation is available by taking NJ Transit Buses 1 or 108 to the Five Corners and walking down St. Charles Street. Click here to learn more and to sign up.
