Newark, New Jersey: A discount clothing chain will open a location in Downtown Newark. Fallas Discount Stores' Newark store will take up two storefronts in the former Bamberger's Department Store building, between Rite Aid and Family Dollar. The space has been vacant for at least ten years. Fallas Discount Stores is owned by National Stores, Inc, which also owned the Conway discount store chain before closing it in 2014. There was a Conway location in Downtown Newark for several years. There are currently no Essex County Fallas location, though stores operate in New York and in nearby Elizabeth, Union County.
