Maplewood, New Jersey: Ellen Pao, the interim Chief Executive Officer of San Francisco, California-based Reddit, Inc., has announced her resignation from the online forum network. According to Bloomberg, Pao's resignation comes after Reddit users protested the firing of Reddit staff member Victoria Taylor. Earlier this year, according to the News-Record of South Orange and Maplewood, Pao lost a lawsuit relating to alleged discrimination at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, her former employer. The new CEO of Reddit Inc. will be Hipmunk Chief Technology Officer Steve Huffman. Huffman was one of the original founders of Reddit, Inc.
Pao grew up in Maplewood, and graduated from Columbia High School in the township in 1987. She attended Princeton University in Mercer County after Columbia.
