Newark, New Jersey: The Community Center at Newark's West Side Park will reopen this Wednesday, July 8th beginning at 11:00am. There will be games, prizes, music, and food. The center, which is newly renovated, will be managed by the 50 year old United Community Corporation as an affiliate of the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs. It originally closed for renovations in the spring of 2014. West Side Park, a part of the Essex County Parks System, is located in Newark's West Ward at 600 South 17th Street.
