See Live Raptors in Maplewood This Weekend

The Durand-Hedden House and Garden in Maplewood will sponsor 'Close Encounters with Birds of Prey' this Sunday at Jefferson Elementary School at 1:30pm. Bill Streeter, the director of the Delaware Valley Raptor Center in Pike County, Pennsylvania, will teach attendees about the raptors of the Northeastern United States, and will bring six live raptors. Following the presentation, the Durand-Hedden House, which is located just across Ridgewood Road, will be open to visitors. Refreshments will be served, and the country store will be open. Plus, an exhibit on the history of the movie theater in Maplewood Village will be open for viewing.

Jefferson Elementary School is located at 518 Ridgewood Road. The Virginia Road door to the school will open at 1:00pm. Admission is free.
