Tree Lighting Ceremony Today at City Hall

The City of Newark will hold the 29th annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony this afternoon at City Hall. The festivities will start at 4:30pm, when the Wells Fargo Jazz for Teens Alumni Ensemble, the Voices of Newark Choir, poet Betty Neals, and the Newark Boys Chorus will perform for attendees. Free hot chocolate will be provided by the Salvation Army and Santa Claus will greet children. The holiday tree is a 30-foot Spruce tree, and the 39,600 lights on the tree will be solar powered.

Newark City Hall is located at 920 Broad Street between Franklin and Green Streets.
