The third annual Maplewood Art Walk and Music Fest will take place this Sunday, September 28, in the Maplewood Village Business District. Professional artists will display and sell their work throughout the village from 11am until 5pm. According to the event schedule, live performances will take place throughout the day at Ricalton Square, and on Highland Place and Baker Street. Other activities include sidewalk chalk graffiti, arts and crafts activities, sand art, free balloon twisting, knitting, and face painting. In addition, the Montclair Art Museum Art Truck will be open to visitors, as well as the Tara O'Leary Gallery on the second floor of 155 Maplewood Avenue. The event is presented by the Maplewood Village Alliance and sponsored by Vanessa Pollock of Keller Williams Realty and Mona Lisa Framing.
The 23rd annual Caldwell Street Fair will take place on Sunday, October 5 from 12pm until 5pm along Bloomfield Avenue in Downtown Caldwell. The fair will feature approximately 200 booths, rides, food, arts and crafts, a beer garden, and entertainment. The street fair takes place every year on the first Sunday in October, and is a project of the Rotary Club of the Caldwells and the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex. The Calandra Family is the premier sponsor.
The West Orange Fire Department will hold an open house on Saturday, October 11 from 12pm to 2pm at the West Orange Public Library. Visitors can see the raising of a 110 foot aerial ladder and hazard house demonstations, and learn fire safety tips. Giveaways and refreshments will be available. The library is located at 46 Mount Pleasant Avenue.
